Today in power to the people Hurumanu, we learned about the Maori authority system and the British settler Government system. This compare and contrast paragraph is about these two systems.
In New Zealand, there are two types of Government. One was the Maori Authority system, the other British settler Government system.
The Maori Authority system os when, there were no courts, judges, police, or prisons.
In contrast, the British settler Government system is when people were responsible for the whole of society. there were set punishments for breaking laws.
This matters because...
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Helen Clark
New Zealand’s 37th Prime Minister
Born on: 26th February 1950.
Full name: Helen Elizabeth Clark.
Early Years: Attended primary school and high school in South Auckland.
University: She entered the University of Auckland in 1968 to study politics, and became active in the New Zealand Labour Party. After graduating she lectured in political studies at the university. Clark entered local politics in 1974 in Auckland but was not elected to any position.

Dame Jenny Shipley
New Zealand’s 36th prime minister
Born on: 4th February 1952.
Full name: Dame Jennifer Mary Shipley
Early Years: attended Marlborough Girls' Colleg Christchurch College of
Education.
University: after she finished the Marlborough Grils’ college then she attended Christchurch College of Education.
Family Life: only has 1 child.
